Today was the third day on the water. Today it was the real “Fremantle Doctor” (the local seabreeze). Me and the Finish olympian were speed testing and did some down wind technics.
Today was the first day of training here in Perth, Australia. I had a short session today with the new boat. Just to check that everything was allright. It was the first time in the water for this boat.
On the way from the airport yesterday I learn an important thing about sailing from the taxi driver. He had been sailing last week for the first time and the captain had let him steer the boat. And he told me: “It´s so easy to sail you just go a little bit left and a little bit right”.
Thanks for the tips!
Sitting on the airport on the way to Perth. I will be in Perth training three weeks before the world championship starts. The championship starts for the Finns the 5th of December. Follow the regatta here
Sitting on the ferry back to Sweden. I have done the last training session at lake Garda, Italy. This time I hade my coach, Björn Johansson, with me so the training was realy efficant and developing. As it expected the conditions were windy. We were around five boats training together for ten days. It was a good build up for “strong-wind-hiking” in Australia.
Ten days of training and two regattas with good competition. I have had ten days with realy good training with various conditions but moastly strong wind. There has been around fifteen boats trainig together. I also did two regattas with around 40 boats. Good starting training. Racing on lake Garda is a little bit of “one-way” sailing wich means that you have to make a good start and keep your lane to the top mark. Now I go back to Sweden for ten days and then back to garda.
With me on this trip has been Björn Allansson. We have trained together and shared appartment. Björn is also trying to teach me how to dress professionally for sailing…
After five bullets and three third places I won the Swedish Championship.
